Red Spider Lily Grand Festival

Red Spider Lily Grand Festival

Red Spider Lily Grand Festival

In an area of 1.32 million m2 with a colony of red spider lilies, Papilio maackii and a red spider lily park, Red Spider Lily Grand Festival has been held every September since 2000.

The area consists of a winding walking trail in the byway of thick-stemmed bamboo fields and tea fields at the back of Yongcheonsa Temple, a large-sized dragon fountain, a tunnel with gourds and sweet pumpkins hanging appetizingly, a tower devotedly built with pots, stone towers built in hopes of families’ health and happiness, an outdoor theater, forest of meditation thinking one thousand times and passing by Cheonsasa (House of Heavenly Thoughts), and a traditional wild flower garden.

A four-kilometer flower path, ridden with red spider lilies on both sides of a hiking trail in Moak Mountain and Sinhaeseon, an entry road to Yongcheonsa Temple, elicits exclamation from visitors with its natural beauty.

The mountain, laden with green leaves sprouting during winter and spring after red spider lilies bloom in autumn wither, creates another breathtaking view.
